Well, we’ve been in our new home for a week now. I love it! But, we are still trying to settle in and it’s been a chore!
The one thing I hate about apartments/condos in California is that they don’t come furnished with Refrigerators!! Yes! How unbelievable is that?! We knew this coming into it, but we didn’t know how hard it would be to get a fridge without spending tons of money. You never realize how hard it is to live when you have no fridge! Sure we can cook still, but even if we cook and we have leftovers, we can’t refrigerate them. Ugh! And the essentials like milk, cold water, butter, eggs and I’m sure the list goes on and on, are truly missed! You can’t even begin to understand how hard it is to eat breakfast. I’ve never missed eating cereal so much!
And I think this transition has made me realize how spoiled I am. At my dads we had DirecTV, every channel imaginable, and internet/WiFi. Granted we will be getting our hookup this week (thank God!) but life without Big Brother, movies and more has been hard. Again, it’s only been a week, but I never realized how much I needed WiFi for my phone to survive! This is why it’s taken me so long to write a post because I haven’t had the best internet connection. Once Tuesday comes, I’ll be the happiest woman alive. I couldn’t even watch football today. And anyone who knows me knows I live for football on Sundays.
So, although we are blessed to have a roof over our heads, I have found a reason to complain lol. I know plenty of people go without these things (more power to them) but I am not one to survive in these conditions. Talk about a true product of the 21st century. Oh well. Once everything falls into place, my home will be my sanctuary. Until then, we will continue to live off $5 Little Caesars pizza and $.99 slurpee refills! I’ll keep you updated.
XOXO TJ
